DESCRIPTION: These records are compiled by the state's heritage/historical parks to collect information regarding Native American burial sites. Information includes inventories of bones and ancient artifacts, such as baskets or pottery, that are uncovered and maintained by either the heritage park or the Division of State History. Indian remains are not currently removed, but are photographed, inventoried, then reburied. State History is involved in all phases of the excavation of artifacts.
