DESCRIPTION: These records are retention schedules produced by the State Archives and approved by the State Records Committee for the use of state and local government entities (Utah Code 63G-2-604(1)(2008)). These schedules may be unique to a single record series or governmental entity, or generally applicable to common records managed by a variety of governmental agencies. The retention schedules indicate how long records must be kept and whether they should be destroyed or preserved permanently; they are used to assist agencies in establishing and maintaining records management programs.
