TITLE: Military records transfer organization correspondence

ARRANGEMENT: Chronological by date.

DESCRIPTION: This series consists of letters of correspondence concerning the transfer of military records from the Selective Service system to the Utah State Archives. Although by this point the State Archives had grown beyond its origins as the military records section created by the 1957 Graves Registration Act, it was still responsible for the forms and information for marking headstones of military veterans.

Letters are from individuals including the director of the Selective Service System in Utah, the Utah State Archivist to the Secretary of Defense, Senator Frank E. Moss in support, the United State Air Force personnel director, and the Utah Adjutant General.

RETENTION

Permanent. Retain until administrative need ends

DISPOSITION

Transfer to Archives.
