DESCRIPTION: These reports are filed with the Federal Election Commission in order to document contributions to, and expenditures by, candidates campaigning for the United States Senate. Candidates are required to file reports containing this information by 2 USC 439. This code section also states that the candidates must file a copy of the report with the Secretary of State within their home state.
