DESCRIPTION: In 1909 the State Legislature appropriated money for the State Engineer to make hydrographic surveys of each stream system and source of water supply within the state (Laws of Utah, 1909, chapter 98). The Virgin River Survey Hydrographic Record identifies the name and owner of each spring or channel within the Virgin River system. It details measurements of water discharge throughout the year (1910). It describes the steam location, the source of its water supply, and contains comments about irrigation use and flooding, etc.
