TITLE: Poetry contest records

DESCRIPTION: This series contains the records of participants, judges, and organizers involved with Utah's annual, state and local Poetry Out Loud contest. Two national organizations, the Poetry Foundation and the National Endowment for the Arts, partner with state arts agencies to support the competitions. The contest encourages high school students to learn about outstanding poetry through study, memorization, and performance. The state competition includes classroom, school-wide, district, and state levels. State winners compete in the National Finals in Washington, D.C. Contents of this series may include correspondence, worksheets, DVDs of state competitions, photographs, pictures, copies of competition poetry, scoring information, and judges' notes.
