DESCRIPTION: These records support the agency's function to provide a safe and humane care and control of animals. Records document the quarantine, testing, and final handling of animals suspected of carrying the rabies virus. Information includes contact information for the person who transported the animal to the shelter, a description of the animal, a description of conditions under which the animal bite or scratch occurred, contact information for the victim, and rabies test results. Information may also include contact information for the animals owner, any previous rabies vaccinations, or a home-quarantine agreement.
