DESCRIPTION: These are the files of activities involved in the removal or remedial action taken when hazardous substances are released into the environment or there is a threat that they will be released. These actions are authorized under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act of 1980 and under 40 CFR 300. These files include correspondence, memoranda, water analysis teat results, soil analysis test results, copies of contracts to clean up specific sites, letters of agreement between the state and the Environmental Protection Agency as to terms of clean up, maintenance, decommission, and decontamination of sites, and information as to contaminated sites in other states.
