DESCRIPTION: These records are duplicate copies of drivers licenses and identification cards which are produced automatically at the time that a drivers license or identification picture is taken. They serve as the Department of Public Safety's official copy. Public Safety uses the information as a source of verification for drivers license records. Information includes the same that is found on a Utah drivers license: name, address, weight, height, eye and hair color, birth date, Social Security number, sex, signature, and photograph of a driver; restrictions and endorsements; and dates of issuance and expiration.

This disposition is based on the administrative needs expressed by the agency. Previous decision: Retain in office 12 years. The change is due to the change in drivers license renewal period time lengths. The agency used to keep these records for three four-year renewal periods and now need to keep them for three five-year renewal periods.
