DESCRIPTION: The quality assurance program monitors and evaluates the quality and appropriateness of patient care services provided by all disciplines, units, departments, and services of the hospital; identifies problems and potential problems which have significant impact on patient care and ensures that all areas are included in the program. This is done by using the Extended Audit Tool established by USH. This monitoring and evaluation tool meets The Joint Commission of Accredited Health Care Organizational Standards and Certification approval from the Centers of Medicare and Medicaid Services. Findings of these audits are used to compile reports and to improve patient care and standard compliance.
